THE SECOND LARGEST DIAMOND EVER FOUND

The second largest diamond ever found was recovered at Lucara Diamond Corp in Karowe mine, Botswana. Weighing 1,111 Carats, this is a type IIa diamond, found in less than 2% of all diamonds, making it even more unparalleled and unique. Type IIa diamonds are dear, usually costing 60k per carat. Despite the high list of buyers waiting to get their hands on the diamond, the company is in no hurry to sell it.

January Birthstones

New Year's babies are blessed with the birthstone of Garnet. A deep, evocative crystal stone. It is a semi-precious stone that symbolizes peace and health. Since it's the first month and the first birth stone, it is known as the "Gem of Faith." Garnets have been used since the bronze age. Ancient romans were fond of the dark, vivid, red stone using it as a symbol for life. It is now used for happiness, purity, and protection.
The name Garnet comes from the latin word "Granatum" meaning pomegranate, because of the large portion of red Garnets. Although they do also come in green, orange, yellow and pink.It is a double stone that does not scratch or break easily.
Our January Favorites are these deep red, Garnet earrings. Such a perfect asset to bring with you into the new year.
