The brand new Hunger Games Movie is out and Catching Fire torched our souls from the core.As much as we are not fund of the philosophy behind this movie, it doesn't keep us from being fascinated with brave and amazing Katniss and the beautiful and flamboyant costumes and make up of the "Capitol". As OKG JEWELRY we are so inspired by it that we created this "The Hunger Games Catching Fire Jewelry Collection" based on the main characteristics of the 12 districts of Panem. We can't wait for them to start a revolution and declare their independence as well as taking over the Capitol!

Let's talk about these 12 Districts:

DISTRICT 1 _ The Luxury District
District 1 makes the luxury goods that decorate and beautify our great Capitol. Its excellent taste and craftsmanship keep Capitol residents bewigged and bedazzled year-round."

District 1 is the wealthiest district and they manufacture luxury items such as diamond jewelry. District one citizens usually name their children with gemstone names.
They also always have the most luxurious outfits out of all district when they are in their chariot rides.

District 2 is composed of small villages and the citizens are miners, blacksmiths, builders.

DISTRICT 3 _ Technology District

Being technologically advanced, District 3 is specialized in all kinds of electronics, engineering, technical support. They are one of the most rebellious districts of all.

DISTRICT 4 _ Fishing District

"Do you like seafood? Shrimp and crabmeat? Often overlooked, District 4 plays an essential role, bringing us the bounty of the sea. These citizens are adept with nets and tridents, and can swim like fish themselves."

This district's citizens are fishermen which makes them experts in using nets and fish hooks. District 4 is one of the wealthiest and rebellious districts of Panem. Even their bread is tinted in green because of its seaweed content.

This district provides all the power to Panem. They are responsible for the energy of the nation. 

One of the most intelligent tributes in the hunger games movies so far was Foxface as Katniss calls her. 

She was full of energy just like her district

These guys manage all the transportation in Panem therefore they love industrial designs.

The Hunger Games District 6

This Sapphire Station Bracelet is what we chose for the transportation district. It is crafted in 14kt white gold, with square sections which are centered by 4 invisible set square cut natural sapphires 1.30ct tw and surrounded by 1.70ct tw round brilliant cut pave set diamonds.

DISTRICT 7 _ Lumber District
"This beautiful district is lush with trees, from which these citizens supply our lumber and paper. The people of District 7 are hardworking and down-to-earth."

People in this district are great carpenters, lumberjacks and papermakers. even though it is not one of the wealthy districts, citizens of District 6 are great craftsmen.

This district produces all kinds of textiles for Panem. There are many dress makers and designers that work in this district. Therefore their outfits are extra ordinary and unique.

This district is specialized in farming. They provide all the grain to Panem.

District 10 Citizens are the Cowboys of Panem. They are farmers, butchers, ranchers and they are mainly responsible for providing livestock to the Capitol. This district is like the Texas of Panem.

This is what we think that would be perfect for this district with its clean lines and shiny and strong gold links.

DISTRICT 11 _ Agriculture District 
"Known for its bountiful orchards, District 11's workers spend their days among rustling fruit trees and sizeable farms." ―Description from The Hunger Games: Tribute Guide

This district is also full of farmers, gardeners and harvesters. However all their crop goes to the Capitol. After Rue's death was shown, and Katniss saluted District 11, a riot was started in District 11.
This is one of our favorite districts because the sweat character Rue from the 1st Hunger games movie.



"I see her in the mockingjays that sing in the trees." said Katniss about Rue. 
Even though she was a little girl, she was able to climb the tallest trees in District 11, she would see the flag signaling and sing her four song when the work was over for the day. This song would be spread through all the orchards. Mockingjays were her friends.

District 12 where the legendary Hunger Games Tribute Katniss Everdeen lives! This is the poorest district of Panem. They are mainly Coal miners and "Hob Merchants" which is the lack market of the district, where Katniss purchased the infamous mocking jay pendant.

We dedicated 3 different pieces of jewelry for District 12 since we are obsessed with the outfits Katniss is wearing.
