This was one of those occasions that our dear customer Mitchell who is a one man army when it comes to plays and musical whether it is singing or writing a play. He is a very successful writer and actor who has a passion for theatre and show business. He also sings very well. He wanted to get a ring that represents his love for theatre and singing. After a while brainstorming the design options with Gary, the basic sketch was drawn and Gary started perfecting it by deciding on the type of materials and techniques will be used on the ring as well stones. Based on Mitchell's preference, they decided to go with black and white diamonds.
Of course what is a theatre themed ring without the "Comedy&Tragedy" theatre masks! Gary added a Thalia mask and a Melpomene mask on 2 sides of this spectacularly unique theatre ring he designed.
The history of these masks go way back all the way to ancient Greece and the birth of theatre, The main function of these masks with exaggerated facial expressions was to help the actors to transmit their emotions to the audience, sitting in the backseats of giant amphitheaters.
First we did a sketch of the ring from different angles. Mitchell really liked the designed and gave us the go ahead,
therefore we took the next step which is the 3D computer design
The sketch was precisely duplicate in a computer program which is a special software for custom 3D jewelry design.
Once all the details were perfected, we created the actual ring.
It came out absolutely gorgeous!
It is completely high polished with rounded edges,
You can see the tragedy mask on one side,
And the comedy on the other
Mitchell absolutely loved his ring!
